This gargoyle guards the trail through our woods. He’s starting to look like he could use a little guarding himself–besides the missing paint, one of his feet is broken off.

I think he’s beginning to look like he’s guarded the trail for eons. His appearance reminds me of old gravestones in 19th century cemetaries. I like it! Please don’t paint him! 🙂
Kathy, there’s not much chance of him seeing a fresh coat of paint on my watch. In fact if you don’t like to see weathered and peeling paint, our mountain house is the place to be–there are a lot of those so-called deferred maintenance items around here. Too many chores, too little time!
