Skylight Washington, D.C. 2005
I took another trip in the WABAC Machine the other day fishing in my archives for some abstract images. This one is from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African Art.]]>Photo By: Pedro Luis Raota Photo By: Pentti Sammallahti As a photographer I find the trouble with looking at collected works of the masters is that while I find it an inspiring experience, it can also humble me to the point of discouragement about my own work. But, it’s an opportunity to both enjoy and learn, and it helps me focus my thoughts about the strengths and weaknesses of my own work and where I want to go with it. The particular set of work here (two examples above) contains many wonderful images and was well worth the creative angst it produced. (I wonder if it was selection bias or just a coincidence that so many of them contained dogs.)]]>
