<![CDATA[So today I'm riding my bike back to our townhouse after running a few errands. I'm half a block from home and after looking aside for a second, when I brought my eyes back to the street in front of me I had to brake quickly for a big black dog that had run out into the street. Only it wasn't a big black dog, it was a black bear cub. In town, in the middle of the day, really? Anyway, he looked like he didn't really want to be there, but didn't know which way to go to get to where he really wanted to be. I followed him for about half a block thinking I might get a photo of him with my cell phone but he didn't stop and then left the road and went into someone's back yard. So no photo of this happening, just a story.]]>

Funny story! Were you keeping watch for Mama bear as you chased the cub down the street?
Actually I wasn’t watching for mama bear–probably should have been. I wonder, can I pedal a bike faster than an angry mama bear can run? Over a short distance probably not.
