Blank Slate
Wichita, Kansas
2016
In one of the galleries at the Wichita Art Museum (in fact the same gallery where my Elevations exhibit hung in 2009) they have installed a large black board, presumably to let budding artists try their hand. I didn’t draw anything; I decided that an abstract photo featuring the board itself was better suited to my talents. To me the photo suggests a freeway bridge with trucks passing by in front of an approaching storm (or perhaps it’s just night coming on).
I like this very much Larry. I did not look at for a feeling that it reminds me of something, but rather that it just feels right.
Good job of seeing.
I can see that too! In fact, it doesn’t have to be a bridge, just a view of a distant highway crossing the desert, too far away to hear the traffic…
