Pillars of Fire
Valley of Fire, Nevada

They’re pillars and they’re in the Valley of Fire, so the name seems like a natural.

  1. The openings are an interesting formation given this is located in the desert. It’s hard to imagine how wind would create round holes at different heights. The bottom pillars, though, seem like they could be formed by rushing water from a flash flood.

    1. I’m guessing it’s all due to wind, or rain water running down the surface of the rocks, and perhaps some freeze thaw effects. It was in too high an area relative to the surrounding terrain to be due to flash floods.
