I’m going to move away from the China photos now in favor of some composite images I’ve been working on. If you want to see more of the China photos, I’m working on galleries on my website. There are still a couple of collections to go yet but there’re a lot to look at there that have not appeared as POTDs. Check it out here.
I call this image the roost as I envision this being a flock of crows (murder if you will) gathering for the evening. All of the crows shown were photographed on wires, sometimes in groups, but not necessarily as close together as they are here. The background is actually made of two layers. The first (the one that shows the concentric rings, suggesting sunlight radiating through clouds) was actually a pattern I saw on the lid of a trashcan in a park one day. The other image is of spray paint patterns on cardboard that I posted as a separate POTD a couple of years ago. (See it here, and an explanation for why it’s called “The Process” here.)
Yeah! More crow pictures! 🙂 Not that I haven’t enjoyed the China shots, but I love the composites you create of these birds. Thank you for sharing a little about the images that make up this one. Yum! 🙂
I likes this very much Larry. And also the links to the older images of cardboard. You have given me an idea. I have very fleeting images in the morning on a sunny days of Oak Tree shadows and have been unhappy with the texture of the sheetrock. Cardboard may just be what I have been looking for, know I just have to find a sheet big enough.
Thanks Kathy and Alan. Alan, the cardboard images on my blog were all taken when I was just using large, flattened cardboard boxes. That’s why a lot of them have fold marks visible. Since then however I replaced those with large single sheets of corrugated cardboard I bought at the local UPS store. I think thhey’re something like 5’x7′ which might well be big enough for your use. You need a big van or truck to get them home without folding though.
