The Madding Crowd

Actually, for the most part they look happy rather than mad. Myself, I was a bit worried about how I was going to swim upstream through that crowd when the light changed, so I snapped this photo and then took a detour to the other side of the street.
It’s interesting to me that the two women that are front and center are interacting while the rest of the crowd seems disconnected. Certainly a diverse collection of faces.
Betty, I imagine there’s a lot of information in that photo that would make a good topic for discussion among sociologists interested in random patterns of human interaction.
So you might not have been Far From the Madding Crowd , you attempted to at least be A Short Distance Away From the Madding Crowd. I guess you could call that a sequel.
One man’s far is another’s short distance. Whichever I was it was better than total immersion.
