Is there an optical illusion here? The shallow depth of field and the bright background makes it appear as if one of the “outside” stalks is the shadow of the center sharp one. I’m assuming that there are actually 3 stalks. It’s a fun effect!

There are in fact three stalks. Perhaps I should have called this one “Stereo Shadows.”
