POTD: Pizza Man
We’ve eaten a lot of that quintessential French food, pizza, during our stay. Not only do we like pizza, it’s about the only restaurant or fast food staple that approaches the same price we’d pay back home. Want a burger instead? The typical restaurant burger will cost $15-20 and even a Big Mac combo meal is over $10. The most expensive glass of Coke I’ve seen (but didn’t buy) was about $9. With those prices you’d think I’d lose weight while we’re here since I’m so cheap. But that hasn’t been the case thanks to the pastry shops that are everywhere and sell quite delicious almond croissants (among other delectables) at reasonable prices.]]>
How about the street food – in particular crepes?
The crepes are o.k., but for the same price ore even a little less you can pick up wonderful pastries. An almond croissant can be had for a bit under $3. We also had “inexpensive” sandwiches at a hole-in-the-wall place on day that were really good. But even then two sandwiches and drinks will set you back about $20!
