What do you see when you look at the wet pavement in this photo? This photo from the movie Nosferatu that I have previously posted came immediately to my mind:
I guess I am even more morbid – I see a body outline, or blood, yech – can’t quite find much artistic, sorry
Any time you bring up the “is it art?” question be prepared to define what art is! 🙂 But, I should say I don’t require something to be “art” by some definition or the other to qualify for the POTD. It just has to be interesting, or curious, or funny, or just plain capable of evoking a reaction of some sort. In this case because it spurred the comparison to the Nosferatu image in my mind and a “yech” out of you means it qualifies.
Even before seeing the color image, the wet pavement seemed to me to be some sort of hulking monster like those out of very bad horror movies in the 1930s and 1940s when special effects weren’t as elaborate as they are now. It was definitely a “lurching” humanoid figure in my mind! 🙂
