POTD: Banksy Editorial

This graffiti seems to be making some sort of statement about or perhaps tribute to the famous street artist Banksy, although I was at a loss as to what the message was intended to be. Intentional or not, the three Banksy labeled figures appear uncomfortably swastika-esque.

POTD: Down on the Corner

Nothing too striking about this photograph–except those are two of my photographs wrapping the utility boxes on the corner of Broadway and Park Avenue in downtown Idaho Falls. The full photographs are shown below.

These two photographs have been part of the permanent collection at the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho since about 2008. A couple of years ago they were asked to provide artwork for sprucing up various utility boxes around town and my photographs ended up here. I don’t believe they knew it at the time but this was a very appropriate location for them to appear as I took the photographs just across the street back in 2005. They came from an old Coca Cola mural from the 1950s that had recently been uncovered during a building remodel. A few days after I took the photographs, the mural was sandblasted from the wall.
