The Gesture #12
Wichita, Kansas
2016
When I am out and about with both my camera and the Fashion Queen, she will sometimes calls my attention to something and suggest it might be picture worthy. Much as I like to think I see all that I need to see and don’t need help finding interesting compositions, her suggestions sometimes do result in an interesting shot I would have otherwise missed.
Well spoke. Certainly, this shot could not have happened without the F.Q.’s active participation. The overall effect left me smiling.
You have to admire her modesty–she’s pointing out a potentially interesting photo when it was herself that ended up in the shot. A couple of quirks about this photo that help make it interesting are the way she’s seemingly hanging on to that post for dear life and the uncanny resemblance of her relaxed pointing hand to that of God in Michelangelo’s “The Creation of Adam” on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
