This is really great! Looking at all the diamond shapes.
Thanks Betty. Your comment brings to mind Paul Simon’s song Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes.
This picture is another great example of timing and startling composition. Well done!
I continue to be amazed at your street photography images. I really have no idea how you do this so effectively. How surreptious are you? Shooting with a long lens from a distance? Wide angle nearby? Burst mode? 😉
Thanks Kathy. This particular shot is a healthy crop of a image showing all of the two women. I am pretty surreptious, at least in the sense I tend to shoot from a distance of 15-20 feet using my 16-85mm zoom lens. Although sometimes I shoot as I’m walking, I will often, as in this case, sit on the side of the sidewalk somewhere and just watch as things go by. It also is easier to go unnoticed when photographing in an area where everyone seems to be pointing a camera at something or someone all the time.
Great catch and cropping! I really, really like this!
The decisive moment.
Thanks Carol, and Allan (although HCB I ain’t–unfortunately).
