Well I guess a roof made out of a boat ought to be waterproof.
A roof made out of a boat that floats is waterproof anyway. A leaky boat not so much. We saw one boat roof where the boat had been covered with a layer of canvas to prevent leaks. In that case I guess all the boat did was provide a sloping roof shape without much work.
