I believed this was billed as a typical miner’s cabin, but at least in the heyday of mining in this area, I have a hard time believing that a single miner would have such spacious digs.

This shot reminds me of a picture by Walker Evans. Nicely done!
Thanks Molly. Yes, it is reminiscent of Walker Evans, whose work is a subconscious early influence on my photography I think, but also other photographers of the 30s and 40s, including Wright Morris who I’m be referring to in a POTD in a couple of days.
I can easily see the influence. As a former photography enthusiast, I can attest to the fact that these shots are really hard to capture well.
