I am continually fascinated by the similarity of the internal structure of tree leaves to the structure of the entire tree.
Agreed! And that dendritic pattern is repeated on a large scale with the way water drains through canyons and crevices into rivers and their systems as can be seen from a plane, especially over SW desert terrain.
Same pattern everywhere!

Yes, fractals came to my mind too.
I should add that the dendritic pattern appears in human anatomy also, such as circulatory and nervous systems.
