I neglected to note the name of this bird when we were at the zoo in Wichita. Figuring there can’t be that many bright azul colored exotic birds out there I consulted Google thinking I’d turn up the identity in short order. Boy was I wrong. After scanning several pages of bright blue birds, some even more striking than this one, I gave up.
Try Asian-Fairy bluebird
Hah, I knew someone would take up the challenge. That’s exactly what it is, an Asian Fairy bluebird. I wonder why that didn’t come up in my search.
