POTD: Tough Sledding

Tough Sledding Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming 2013

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these beasts from the swift completion of their appointed rounds (eating). It’s quite interesting watching bison digging energetically down through crusty snow by swishing their heads back and forth. They must have pretty tough noses. They don’t necessarily go for the places with the least snow either, instead often choosing to work down through the sometimes deeper snow covering what they know or suspect to be the most choice grasses.]]>

  1. This one really gives a feeling of winter! I’m in Illinois where it’s snowing and has been just as cold as Yellowstone (below zero temps & wind chill). These guys would feel right at home!
Congrats on being selected for the KSC show out of so many applicants! We know your work is good. It’s nice that “strangers” do too! 🙂

    1. Kathy, you need to come back to Montana and warm up! Calm and sunny with temps in the 40s here today. And yes it’s nice to have my work recognized by folks from elsewhere who otherwise don’t know me.
