The markings of growth, age, and experience show not only in close in on a tree’s bark, but also in the twists and turns of the tree trunk itself. I wonder what event caused the abrupt turn in this aspen’s life.

A young bull moose who I was negotiating with for a trail we both wanted to walk on from different directions. He choose to pass in the brush on one side of the trail while I took to the aspen trees on the other side.]]>

It’s the Same (Old) Story Helena, Montana 2012

An interesting pattern of poster bits on a window in downtown Helena. I had (have) to wonder if the omission of the word “old” from the one poster was intentional; if so I’m not sure what point they were trying to make by leaving it out.
