My first dog Pilgrim, a German shorthaired pointer mix, spent much of her life in this house and is buried on the hill nearby. I am reminded of her every time I see these bookends.

Filling a home with found(or purchased!) items that bring you joy or rekindle fond memories is the best way to decorate! I see that every where in your home and I am loving the Home Ground Series!!
Thanks Jodi, I’m glad you’re enjoying the series. Going through our house and actually paying attention to all the things in it while I was photographing this series was a great way for me to reconnect to the history of our lives in the place. You’d think I’d be reminded of that every time I walked by something, but the truth is it all kind of becomes invisible after a while unless I take the time to stop for a moment and contemplate the history involved.
