POTD: Not Getting Away From It All

Not Getting Away From It All
Hobson, Montana
2020

One reason we headed east to the Missouri Breaks last month was to try and drive out of the pervasive smoke we’d been experiencing in Bozeman every day. It didn’t really work–we saw some relief for some of the days but others were pretty bad. More recently weather patterns have shifted and we’ve been blessed with beautiful, crystal clear skies. Alas, that did not last as a new fire 30 miles from here has burned a couple thousand acres or so the last few days clouding the skies with haze and smoke again. Thankfully it is not nearly as bad as it was previously, yet anyway.

  1. Not good here either although Sunday night it started clearing up and now Monday morning looks good. The forecast is for more smoke later in the day. At least the amount of ash falling has lessened considerably.

    1. That was an older photo I posted. Our air recently improved a lot. We had a few days that were stunningly clear but it since has gotten more hazy but nothing like it had been. We’re out camping in NE Montana right now which has just a trace of haze, today anyway.
