Having read Aesop’s Fable #373, Gary started in early laying in a store of grain for the winter.
I do really like the feel of this photograph, but it may also be that it has been a battle with grasshoppers in the vegetable garden this year.
Smoking them out has not helped.
Not a big fan of grasshoppers myself, except when properly framed in a photo. I expect you’ll get smoked out of your garden before the hoppers do. It’s bad enough here in Montana where we have few fires and are only getting somewhat dispersed smoke from your direction.
