Evening Prickly Pear
Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada
How did you get the subtle light on it? Flash?
It was natural lighting just before sunset. The lighting was what drew me to taking the photo of what otherwise was a rather common and mundane prickly pear cactus. About all I did in processing the image was to darken the outer areas of to emphasize the cactus itself. That does sort of give it a “lit by flash” look.
Wow! Caught at just the right time. Came out wonderfully good.
Thanks! The desert in the evening is a lovely place indeed.
