Month: July 2017
I mentioned in an earlier post that the Alabama Hills have been well photographed over the years. As such there is nothing special about this landscape view of part of the terrain there. But because I am going to be posting a few other up close shots of the rocks in the are, I posted this overview because I imagine some of my readers have not seen the area in person or in photos.
If I told you this was a bunk room in a summer camp in the mountains somewhere, you might think “nice digs.” The reality that it is a replica of one of the many barracks at the concentration camp in Manzanar where over 110,000 Japanese-Americans were forcibly detained during World War II creates a whole different reaction in your mind–I hope.
