I like the triangle (of a roof?) in the distance that the arrow points toward…making it seem another marker on the way forward. Also effective repeated shape. Nice!
Thanks Kathy. That “triangle” is a pyramid shaped skylight over some space below–very reminiscent and likely copied from the Pei pyramid entrance to the Louvre in Paris. Or given Pei is Chinese, copied may not be the right descriptor, it could be his own work! (A quick Google search did not show a connection between Pei and this structure in Jiuquan.)
