POTD: What Everybody’s Wearing

POTD: What Everybody's WearingWhat Everybody’s Wearing
Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
2016

This is standard winter headgear, or should I say facegear for bison in Yellowstone Park this time of year.  A lot of animals mainly use their hooves to paw through the snow to find grass, but bison seem to prefer using their head. Not only does it clear a bigger swath of snow at one time than a hoof does, it keeps their mouth right down there next to the ground where the grass is. A pretty efficient operation.
