POTD: Lady in Waiting
In his book The Ongoing Moment, author Geoff Dyer discusses collections of images of similar objects by different photographers, trying to elucidate the ways in which the subjects appear both remarkably similar and remarkably different at the same time. In that spirit I suggest a comparison of Lady in Waiting with one of my favorite photographs I took ten years ago:

I have always liked the “missing human” element of the older photo, and now in the new one. Didn’t you also have one in which the swing was tangled with another swing? It always intrigued me as well, as it seemed to show movement, but with no person in the photo. It hinted that it was full of life, but we just missed it.
Connie, you are right, I also have a closer-in photo of two swings intertwined with each other. A three of the swing photos have a certain sense of latent or potential movement in them, I suppose because that’s what swings do!
