This image is a portent of what is coming (in fact already beginning to happen)–hard copy books sit on shelves as decoration while we read electronic text. This guy is in a transition stage though; he’s reading something on his smart phone but he’s also got a book of some sort sitting on the table next to his coffee. My Lectio series is being published in the next issue of LensWork magazine. This photo is too new to be part of what that collection of course, but it would have been a good addition.]]>

Feeling cabin fever in Bozeman already (and winter on just begun), we scheduled an impromptu trip to Seattle for a week. Our timing in getting out of Bozeman Friday was pretty good, we left right after one storm blew through and before the next one that will bring double digit below zero temperatures along with more snow. Of course Seattle greeted us with it’s trademark rain today, but the forecast for the rest of the time we will be here calls for mostly sun.]]>

In his book The Ongoing Moment, author Geoff Dyer discusses collections of images of similar objects by different photographers, trying to elucidate the ways in which the subjects appear both remarkably similar and remarkably different at the same time.
