POTD: Forget-Me-Not #2
Probably 25 years ago or so, when my parents were out visiting from Kansas one summer, my mother got enamored with the forget-me-nots and said that if you put flowers in Ivory Soap Flakes it would dry them out nicely and also preserve the color. So we went into town and bought some and she poured them in a shoebox, added a bunch of forget-me-nots and took them home. I don’t know what she did with them, if anything, but a few years back (even before her dementia set in), when I mentioned that incident to her she didn’t remember doing that at all. It’s funny what little events we remember that others who were there do not. While my mother forgot all about the forget-me-nots, I didn’t and every June when they come out in profusion around here they still remind me of her. Especially today which would have been her 88th birthday.]]>
What a beautiful tribute to your mother, my sister. She was truly unforgettable!
Beautiful flowers, gorgeous photo, and a sweet memory. Happy Birthday, Aunt Mildred, wherever you are.
What a clever and “unforgettable” memorial of Aunt Millie!
Stunning picture and nice tribute.
What a great memory 🙂
I really think you should turn the photo upside-down and call it Forget-me-not #3
