Asian bells, likely one of the Fashion Queen’s garage sale finds, and unusual limestone (I think) balls that rolled out of the hillside one day when I was doing some excavating near the house with my backhoe.

With your backhoe? What a renaissance man!😳
Being called a renaissance man is high praise in my book, so thanks for that! I bought the backhoe originally to clear snow from our 1/2+ mile of road but have used it for many projects in addition to that, including digging our larger pond, trenching for pipes, excavating rocks from a hillside to build rock walls with, etc. It’s been a useful “toy”.
I have to admit that I am always impressed with cross over skills. The multi-skills thing is something I think I learned from my dad who was always of the idea that you always do things yourself, or at least try before you call in an expert. And I think he learned that from being raised on a farm where that’s not uncommon at all, especially during the depression when folks didn’t have other options anyway because of lack of funds. You did it yourself or it did not get done.
If you can’t be the best at one thing try being pretty good at a bunch of them! 🙂
