Probably a A-fork association saddle, bear trap style (cantal higher than the pummel). Mexican skirting seemly added to protect those items carried behind cantal from horse sweat. Back cinch slot seems unused so probably not used as a roping saddle much, they get stretched and rounded. Stirrup strap based on the old McClellan calvary style with wooden unprotected stirrups, probably replacement as most working stirrups tended to be leather over the wood to protect horse and rider if the stirrup was crushed and splintered. Fairly plain but triple leather conchos rather than silver so a little cheap adornment.
Wow, that’s some detailed assessment. They all look alike to me! I mainly took the photo because I liked the chiaroscuro lighting. If Rembrandt was into horse tack, he’d of painted this I think.

Love this detailed description. I noticed some of the features but not most. Thanks!
