I’m probably not the only person out there who takes an interest in abstract images obtained by photographing gum on sidewalks, but I bet there aren’t that many of us. I like this abstract image because of its kinetic look, evoking a feeling of physical movement in spite of being quite static. It also imparts a celestial feeling, at least if you think of it in the film negative sense. Or rather than just thinking of it, visualize it:
The “kinetic look” made me think of Alexander Calder’s mobiles, which I can see in the “light” image. I do see the night sky version too.
