POTD: Electric Liberty
Electric Liberty
Chamberlain, South Dakota
2026
I was walking down an alley in Bozeman a while back, doing some alley shopping as they say, and came across a pile of trash and a “free” pile waiting to be hauled away if no one took it. There was not much of interest in the pile except for three connected cutout letters that were painted black and stood about 18″ high. The letters spelled the word AND. I have no idea if it was a complete sign, or if it was part of a bigger message. It might also just have been an acronym for something. For whatever reason I took it home and it’s been sitting on a bench leaning against my workshop since. It’s certainly a conversation starter when people come to visit.
I don’t know why this Statue of Liberty replica is sitting on top of this otherwise plain industrial building that houses an electric contractor business, but my guess is they did some version of alley shopping of their own.
