Walking the Alcoves
Cathedral Gorge, Nevada
2022
I’ve photographed at Cathedral Gorge several times before, and always presented the images in black and white. (If you’re a long time and regular viewer of POTD you’ve seen them. Also, they were featured in Lenswork Magazine, including on the cover, a couple of years ago.) So this time around I thought I’d present at least some images of Cathedral Gorge in color, although I suspect I’ll slip back into black and while mode pretty quickly.
I took this shot when I was following some coyote tracks along this series of alcoves in a ridge. If you look close enough, you can see the faint prints starting in the lower right corner of the image.
Simple but stunning. Could be otherworldly!
Thanks Mike, the Mars surface comes to mind when I look at these–without the snow of course.
