Hollyhock Cabin
Dubois, Wyoming
2021
I don’t really remember if either of my grandmothers grew hollyhocks and I know my parents did not; but for some reason I always think of “old times” when I see them. So what better background for them than a log cabin?
I believe Grandma Blackwood grew them, and that is where my love of them came from.
In an email Kathy just mentioned Grandma Blackwood’s hollyhocks and that you and she used to play back near them.
I remember loving to open up the seed pods that held little black discs all in a circular row.
Grandma Blackwood’s was a fun place – and it didn’t even have internet or video games!
Ah yes, the good old days.😀 We did always seem to have fun there.
The hollyhocks my neighbor and I planted (well, they came up from last year’s plants) are not nearly that tall! Though they do have nice miniature flowers. 🙂
Not sure I’ve seen the little ones before.
