POTD: Lamb’s Ears

Lamb’s ears aren’t native to Montana but sure grow well on our property, even in the hot, dry weather we’ve been having. Or maybe it’s actually because it’s been hot and dry as I read they are
“superb for growing in drought-like conditions” and even love poor soil, which we also have no shortage of in certain areas.

POTD: Not a Desert Yet

Not a Desert Yet

Even though we’re seeing a disturbing drying trend along with high heat as I mentioned yesterday, we still have various varieties wildflowers over much of our property. I think the mix and the timing of the blooms is changing along with the climate over time, but there’s still plenty to appreciate. For now anyway.
