POTD: Last Light

Back in the 80s sometime, I built this shed in a couple of days from a pile of used lumber, doors and windows I had acquired somewhere. It was way before we built the garage and separate workshop we have now so it came in quite handy for storage of tools etc. Now it serves mainly to hold garden tools and the like as well as a repository for various “important” souvenirs we’ve collected over the years. It’s also a good place for an occasional stint of porchin’ and of course a photo subject. The last time we had our house painted the painter asked if we wanted the shed painted as well or did we want to leave it in it’s rustic state. I guess he thought it had a lot of character. We opted not to repaint it and it has been steadily acquiring more rusticity ever since.

  1. When you pull up the drawbridge, does it keep the mice out? I saw that Billings was going to be 98 today. Hopefully, when you guys are porchin’, admiring the view of the Crazy Mt. or Hyalife Mt. or whatever in the backround, it is cooler than that.

    1. Unfortunately it wouldn’t keep the mice out, just keep this old guy from accessing the shed as easily. No porchin’ here these days–way too much wildland fire smoke in the air.
