LOVE this one! Minus the electrical pole, this scene could be from 200 years ago!
Thanks Kathy. This is the view of Ireland I think most tourists want to see when they visit. It is still easy enough to find although modernity is slowing taking over I think. As far as the antiquity of the look, besides the electric pole, the view 200 years ago would have also been minus the asphalt and likely plus thatched roofs (rare these days). We went to the Irish Museum of Country Life while there and their exhibits suggest that the less modernized Ireland (sans much electricity, asphalt but plus thatch roofs) existed well into the 20th century in some parts of the country.
I did not “read” the road as asphalt but that would be another modern feature. Still love the photo…printed on watercolor paper could be nice. 😉
