Oil and Water

Gorgeous is not an adjective I use often–Fashion Queen assessments aside of course. 🙂 And I’m not sure that I’ve ever used it to describe one of my photographs as it’s not really what I strive for. But when I first saw this quick shot I took with my cell phone on my daily walk about three years ago, that’s exactly the word that came to mind. Given it affected me that way it’s strange I forgot about it until today when I stumbled across it while organizing my photo files.
You are right! This is gorgeous! I’m glad you came across it again so that we could see it.
Thanks Carol. My aunt Betty just mentioned on Facebook that it had a Van Gogh look to it and I thought, of course, The Starry Night! I don’t know why I didn’t think of that; the photo has similar swirls, a dark form at the bottom resembling the trees in the painting, and even the multiple yellow “stars” that his painting has.
Thank you for letting this stay in color. I know exactly where I would like to hang it.
You’re welcome Connie (aka gorgeous).
Very nice photo. Glad you came across it. I’ve always been strangely fascinated by the colors and patterns of oily puddles, and this one adds an unexpected element of beauty.
As usual, your good eye sees what many of us don’t.
Thanks Connie!
