  1. Is this the same pueblo/cliff dwelling that Ansel Adams (and others?) photographed? If so, your image really emphasizes the precarious, isolated location of the buildings in the massive cliff. The dark stains running down from the top conjure images of blood, even though I know they were caused by rain. Nice photo!

    1. Thanks Kathy. This photo is not the same ruin as the famous Ansel Adams shot. That was of the White House Ruin in Canyon del Chelly. I’ve posted a photo of it before on my POTD, but can’t put my hands on it. But here’s Ansel’s version.

  2. Like the Grand Canyon, this is one of those sights that must be seen in person to fully appreciate the scale of things. Just thinking about the moment I first set eyes on these canyons still takes my breath away.

Despite that, Larry, you’ve done a great job conveying the enormity of the rock face of Canyon de Chelly. The first thing that caught my attention was the vertical streaks which led me down to the “whale’s eye”, and only then did I spy the famous cliff dwelling.

    Bravo!
