Kathy, while I hope the searching for a flag keeps you entertained, that was not my intention. The flags are more obvious in bigger images of these shots, and would be plenty obvious at any size I would actually print them. Perhaps when that becomes an issue on the POTD posts, I ought to link to a larger image.
Interesting, Larry! Would you consider, as another method of calling attention to the flag, of making it subtly colored to make it stand out from its b&w surroundings? I know this is an artistic intention question…just curious.
Kathy, I pretty much abandoned using the selective color possibilities of Photoshop some time ago. I feel that technique is overused to the point of being rather cliche and often used pointlessly–sort of a “look what I can do” attention getter. That’s not to say I wouldn’t use it if I felt it absolutely integral to the composition.
I can’t decide if I like the images where I have to hunt for the flag or the ones where the flag is obvious…..;-)
