I like the idea of the image of the dead surrounded by humans in family and social activity. Keeping the memory of living a life. Most modern cemeteries are abstract geometric places. Static and still.
Steve, the statuary in Kerepesi Cemetery does give the impression of a lot of people around, although a surprising number of them don’t look like the kind of folks I’d want to pal around with, living or dead.
