Skyscape Landscape
Bighorn Canyon, Montana
2026
A pretty good match-up; the clouds in the sky and the landscape below both demand about the same amount of attention from the viewer.

Tail End
Bighorn Canyon, Montana
2026
Or should I say upper end as this is actually the upstream end of Bighorn Lake behind the Yellowtail Dam. But the reservoir shape here gives the feel of a tail rather than a head. In either case, it’s a favorite place of ours as it is very reminiscent of country in the southwest U.S. but we can visit it without leaving the state, not to mention without the crowds you often come across in the southwest these days.

This Way, That Way
Rochester, Minnesota
2026
There are two rather mundane mysteries going on here, 1) what was the purpose of painting the black and white squares in the middle of a sidewalk, and 20 why do the skid marks not extend beyond the boundaries of the painted squares?

Just a small dream really, more of a cat nap actually, and a faded one at that.

Little Bean
Rochester, Minnesota
2026
This sculpture is actually kind of long and skinny, sort of like a stretched out teardrop shape laying down on it’s side. This is the big end of it. I looked all around but couldn’t find a plaque or anything listing the name of the sculpture, so I call it Little Bean as I don’t think anyone who’s seen Chicago’s famous “bean” sculpture (formally know as Cloud Gate) can help but say or at least think, “oh, the bean” when first coming across this chrome shape in Rochester. I know that was true for both the Fashion Queen and I.
