A Flat Tire and a Hot Radiator

On the 19th of March, two weeks after our second covid vaccinations and a day after our last of a suite of doctors appointments we’d been putting off since last year, we finally left on the road for our first out of state trip since March 2020. Our in-state adventures last summer were great, but there’s nothing like a big desert road trip as far as I’m concerned. We are also excited to be in a warmer clime for a change. I’m happy to report that we experienced neither a flat tire or hot radiator and saw some much more exciting scenery than depicted on this sign on the way into the Gold Butte National Monument.

POTD: Punch Card Memories

Punch Card Memories

In my first computer programing course in college where I learned the FORTRAN language, all  instructions were fed to the computer via punch cards. This method of entering data and program commands continued during my first foray in grad school where I spent many hours at punch card machines. I still have a few of those old data cards. I use them for bookmarks.
