I came across this beam on the beach one day. The first time I saw it, it had several rocks evenly spaced along it’s length. So I added some more. I walked the beach several times after that, and each day there was a new addition to the impromptu beach sculpture. Was it good art? Who knows, probably not, but it was a fun project to watch develop and to be an anonymous part of.

I’ve heard that crows will sometimes prey on other birds, but I’ve never witnessed it. I don’t know whether or not this crow actually killed the bird it was eating or just took advantage of its death by other causes. Nature is awesome and often gruesome as well.

Twenty-First Century Note in a Bottle

Today the notes are all on our cell phones which wouldn’t be nearly as durable bobbing around in the ocean compared to the classic note in a bottle method of casting messages into the ocean.
