POTD: Flying Feeder

Originally I hung this peanut butter smeared pine cone in the tree to attract songbirds. Instead it became a big attraction to the local magpie population who spent a lot of time trying to discover the easiest way to score some peanut butter with the least amount of effort.

    1. Thanks Carol. Magpies do have more interesting color than crows and ravens, which makes the decision between black and white and color tougher.

    1. Thanks Judy. Magpies are much less cooperative about posing than are crows but sometimes they behave well enough I can get some good shots. And of course enticing them with food always makes it easier.
