I have seen compositions where letters and numbers are used as part of the overall piece and they don’t represent anything other than shapes. I spent a minute trying to deduce the hidden connection and meaning but couldn’t so I’ll just say that I like the piece as presented.
Thanks Steve, and I think you made the right choice in assuming the letters and numbers represent anything other than shapes. These particular shapes may or may not have made the composition more compelling. I guess I think they do improve the composition, perhaps simply because they frame the drawing. I do know cropping in on just the drawing seemed less interesting somehow.
