Wow, 25 years, where did that go? Fresh as ever, although the film updated the original voyage of Ulysses (Homer 725 BE).
After seeing the movie way back when, I tried reading Ulysses but didn’t get very far. I guess I’m much more into popular literature than the classics (with a few exceptions).
I think I read some sort of Cliff notes version with pictures when I was in elementary school. Maybe an attempt to move reading from comics to classics?
I’d think even a Cliff Notes version of Ulysses (or the Odyssey which is actually what Homer wrote and the movie was loosely based after–I think we both got confused by that) would be a heavy lift for grade school students. But maybe I say that simply because it seemed a heavy lift to me at the time I took a stab at it.
Oh Larry. Thank you for the great memories. I’d forgotten how much we had enjoyed that movie.
You’re welcome Carol. I’ve watched a lot of the musical bits on YouTube recently, but it may well be time for a re-watch of the whole movie.

Good tune you picked.
On YouTube last night, we just saw Tim Blake Nelson (sans the fake beard) and some other musicians play the song at the Grand Ole Opry. It wasn’t clear what the occasion was but I think it might have been part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the movie soundtrack.
