Sitting Places #26
Sells, Arizona
2025
Yesterday’s POTD finished up the series for Ajo (I think–maybe there’s still a few lurking out there in my Ajo photos I haven’t paid attention to just yet), but here’s one from a nearby community on the Tohono O’odham nation. Will this become a recurring series for me? Who knows, maybe, at least on occasion when I come across an interesting one. But, on any consistent basis, I think it will be hard to beat the variety of interesting, often hardscrabble sitting places that are to be found in Ajo.
I have truly enjoyed this series!
I’m glad you enjoyed it Molly. When I started this series I expected it to be of questionable interest to others (and even myself) but have been pleasantly surprised about the amount of positive response I received.
I, too have enjoyed this series. Interesting choice of sitting places in this one – an old school desk – seems an odd thing to be in this setting. For a minute I thought the building on the left had some kind of thatched roof – then realized I was seeing the hill behind it. 🤦 Have forgotten how stark the desert is.
Thanks Judy. Yes a school desk is an odd choice for the setting, but then that whole part of Arizona is replete with that kind of oddities for some reason–it’s what makes it a fun place to visit, and of course to photograph.
