Sitting Places #1

All you really need to enjoy Ajo’s mild winter climate is a place to sit, and the homes around town abound in them. Consistent with the general level of architectural non-extravagance in Ajo, the sitting places are most often just a simple chair or two. As I walked around town from day to day, I started photographing them. Some are fancier settings than others, some are as down and out as the houses they serve. All are interesting contributors to the overall cultural feel of the place (or lack thereof).

This first in the series happens to be on the simple porch of the Airbnb rental home we occupied for the month of January. I spent quite a bit of time in that chair reading or watching the comings and goings in the neighborhood, particularly the traffic surrounding the bird feeders hanging near both porch posts.
